Bonding/Composites
Bonding/composites are colored teeth material. Bonding or composites
are used to fill cavities, repair chipped or broken teeth, or to cover
stains. The procedure includes the application of the composite material
in the needed area and the use of a bonding light to harden the material,
which is then smoothed and polished.
Orthodontics & Orthopedics
Orthodontics and orthopedic treatment is about moving teeth and having
bone movement in order to make room for other teeth. Through orthodontic
treatment, problems like crooked or crowded teeth, overbites or underbites,
incorrect jaw position and disorders of the jaw joints are corrected.
Crowns
A natural crown is the visible part of your teeth. A replacement
crown is a cover that is placed on top of the needed tooth. Crowns
are used on teeth with advanced decay and on badly damaged, discolored,
chipped teeth. Crowns are generally made out of porcelain in order
to protect your teeth.
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are used for crooked, severely discolored teeth,
and chipped teeth. A thin layer of enamel is removed and an impression
is taken. A veneer is fabricated to fit the tooth. The veneer is bonded
to the original tooth. Veneers are great for creating a new smile in a
short time. Veneers last a very long time.
Root Canals
A Root canal is a treatment to save the tooth from an extraction. It is performed when the pulp becomes damaged and infection
spreads to the bone and tissues. The process for a root canal includes
the affected tooth numbed, followed by the removal of the pulp, and
the roots must be cleaned out. Once the tooth is clean and free of
infection, the pulp chamber and root canals are filled with a material,
and the tooth is filled. Sometimes the tooth may also need to be crowned.
Bridges
This procedure is used to replace one or more missing teeth. Fixed
bridges cannot be taken out of your mouth as you might do with removable
partial dentures. Bridges will last for years.
Bleaching
Teeth whitening is used to improve teeth discoloration. The bleaching
solution is applied, activated with light, and then rinsed off. This
procedure may need to be repeated. Teeth whitening is usually performed
in one hour. The effect may last for years, but everything depends
on the patient’s life style. Ex: cigarettes, coffee, tea.
Extractions
Extraction is the removal of a tooth. Some extractions are more difficult
than others and sometimes an oral surgeon should perform an extraction.
We do simple extractions and some surgical extractions. For complicated
cases the patient will be referred to an oral surgeon.
